Science Learning Area
Science teachers at Halls Head Community College provide a stimulating and balanced curriculum that gives students the opportunity to demonstrate learning outcomes and achieve to their potential. At regular science meetings science staff discuss ways to improve their pedagogy and they are continually modifying the scope and sequence of what is taught to cater for the ever changing needs of the students. A variety of different assessment items are used and the WALNA and MSE results are analysed to help teachers gain information on the students ability and to assist in future curriculum planning. Science by nature is a very practical hands on subject and students are encouraged to participate in many activities to help reinforce scientific concepts.
