T&E Learning Area
Technology and Enterprise is a diverse learning area consisting of six different contexts (or subjects). Information Technology, Technical Engineering, Fabrics, Food Technology, Wood & Materials Design and Metals Manufacturing Process are the key titles of year 10 courses that have their beginnings in year 8 and 9 studies. In all years the focus is on a skills-based curriculum. The curriculum is very much practical by nature in all T&E Contexts with supporting theoretical studies and four central assessment outcomes being the focus of the learning programs. Technology Process, Materials, Systems and Information are these core outcomes assessed through imaginative, relevant and challenging task driven learning programs. Students studying T&E subjects gain highly relevant lifelong skills involving the development of knowledge through self directed problem solving tasks. The materials handled and manipulated via technology, by T&E students, continue to mirror the environment in which we live and represent future opportunities with a sense of reality, of the years ahead for each and every student. To this end, we are providing our students with the best platform with which to move towards future studies and employment in their chosen field.
